Ophelia Cooper

I'm a young artist working to sell paintings, photography and other small gifts. The Paint Stained Elephant is a business I've created in hopes of sharing my work and becoming more well known. I'd love to sell my products to you, but if all you can afford to do is scroll through my work I appreciate your choice to do so!

To be honest this is not my end goal. I'm enjoying what I love and making money as I do so, but my dream for the future of this business is very different. I have enjoyed many experiences talking with and getting to know homeless people, they are truly some of the most amazing people I've ever met. My desired future for The Paint Stained Elephant is to transform it into an organization in which I go out and get to know the homeless, offering the opportunity for them to create paintings with art supplies that I provide. I want to sell their paintings and give the money made to them. Whether it's enough to buy clothes for interviews and printing resumes, or just enough for groceries it's a step to make these wonderful people feel cared for, respected, and listened to.

I really think this will become a positive step for the future. Not only will it provide some help to the artists that participate, but it will add stories of art into the homes of buyers to spread awareness. To share honest stories of those living on the street by providing an opportunity to express themselves. I know we often think of those that are homeless as covered in dirt and full of sadness on their faces, but trust me when I say that they often have the most beautiful smiles I've ever seen, and more kindness in their hearts then you could imagine!
